Embracing terracotta as a distinctive local material of Majalengka, this boarding house was designed through the exploration of mass composition and materiality to create a strong and contextual architectural character. The interplay between terracotta surfaces and exposed cement textures establishes a bold visual contrast, while the repetition of mountain-inspired roof forms creates a dynamic and rhythmic skyline. The building form emerged from the arrangement of spatial patterns and programmatic requirements within, resulting in a mass composition that is unique, expressive, and unconventional.
